So two weeks ago I went home for a weekend, because my best friend Whitney from high school was getting married and I was a bridesmaid. I love that girl to death and am so happy for her and David. I wish them every happiness in the world.
The beautiful Bride and I. It was a great day!
So I drove home with my amazing boyfriend Mike, and we left on Thursday morning, bright and early. We drove twelve long hours, and killed the hours with talking and music. I was definitely loving the one on one time with Mike, because at college it is hard to do with school, sports and roommates. But we love doing stuff with our roommates too! Mike drove the whole way to Vancouver and the whole way back to Rexburg. When we FINALLY made it to Portland, I accidentally told Mike to take the Portland exit rather than the Seattle exit, and it was right in the middle of rush hour! We finally made it and there was the family to tackle us with a great welcome home and a home cooked meal on the table waiting for us. I loved having home cooking again. We are so deprived in college. lol
The family made us a super cute sign!
Mike meet the family, mom and dad, the sibs, Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Brittney and some of the cousins. He was a big hit with the family and they all loved him and thought he was great. Friday was spent running errands and getting my bridesmaid dress altered. We celebrated Dad's birthday that Friday night because Saturday was going to be packed with wedding and Prom for Brooke. We had a delicious dinner of steak, potatoes, garlic bread, salad, and cake. It was delicious and we did not have enough room for all the food.
Here is the Birthday Boy! Love my Poppy!
Saturday was great! Mike went to the temple with Poppy to do a endowment session before the sealing. And then he came out and sat with me during the sealing. It was a beautiful wedding and Whitney looked absolutely amazing. I posed for pictures and Mike was the best support ever as I had to pose, getting me my jacket between pics and answering my phone when necessary. Pretty much the best boyfriend ever.
The reception was at the Marshall house and it was a great event. I got to see my old high school girlfriends and let's just say that Mike got to see a whole new side of me. Abby, Caitlin, Lindsay, Brittney, Megan, Whitney and I all had a great crack up about old memories, and hearing Abby give advice for the wedding night to Whitney.

I caught bouquet. It was a pretty dang good catch if I do say so myself. lol
Brooke went to prom with Bloor and she looked absolutely gorgeous, and looked like a Bond girl. She had a wonderful time. Love my little sister. They drove to prom in a Porsche!
Well the weekend went way too fast. We loved every minute. I loved sharing my life back home with Mike. He even got to go to Burgerville for the first time, and got to try my fave, Chevy's salsa. He visited Spanky's, my job at home, and my elementary school, middle school, and high school. He met a couple teachers too. Not planned I promise! It was all coincidence. He met Megan, and whit, and Sister Tendler and Sister Glem. All the important people in my life.
On the way home we stopped in Boise for dinner with Mike and Rachel Moorhouse, who I love to death. Mike loved them too. He got some good advice from Mike about chiropractic school and what not. They are so welcoming and I love them both to death. We finally made it back to Rexburg in the early AM hours. It was such a great trip and we didn't want it to end.
Mike and I at the wedding.
But all in all, the trip was about as close to perfect as it can get. I loved all the time I got with Mike and it made it hard to come back to school and responsibility. But if anything it made me realize how grateful and blessed I am to have him in my life right now. He has been such a sweet and caring guy, making me realize that I do deserve to be treated as good as possible. He has made me realize that I don't want to be treated badly by guys and how I don't deserve anything less than the best. He has taught me so many things, and has brought nothing but happiness in my life. So my biggest thanks to Mike for taking care of me and wanting to be a part of my life. You're the best! Thanks for the great road trip.
