I feel like I am always catching up on my blogging. I get so into the daily routines that I forget to take care of the simple daily routines. Right now I am in Vancouver, WA. After three weeks of vacationing we finally made it to Washington. We started our summer break the day after finals were over. We started our epic road trip in Vegas. We drove 9 hours and made it at 9pm. We ended up going to dinner at like 10pm at the cheesecake factory. Food was delish but I was extremely exhausted. I passed out at 1am and didn't surface again until 11am. Pretty much for 2 weeks after the semester I did a lot of sleeping. School drained me. We spent a week and a half with Mike's family playing Settlers of Catan, going out to eat, and talking. It was a blast. I hated Settlers of Catan at the start of the week but when I finally played it our last night in Vegas, I loved it. I wish I would have tried it earlier. We packed up Mike's bedroom, and loaded the car and left early on a Sunday morning and just started driving. We decided to buckle down and just do the whole 18 hour car ride in one day, it was a long one that is for sure. I did half of the driving which I am so proud of myself. It was the longest consecutive driving I have EVER done. We cut the 18 hour drive down to 16 hours. We were both done driving by the time we reached home.
VANCOUVER -
Things were crazy when we got to Vancouver, my sister had her friends over and boyfriend over, and then add the family excitement. It was overwhelming. It took me a while to get use to the chaos of siblings and parents again. What didn't help was that we turned around and went straight to the beach for two weeks, so it was parents, siblings, and grandparents that we had to get use to. But we managed. to get through it. It was a lot of fun. We played games and ate LOTS of food. It was the coldest beach trip that I can remember which I felt bad about for Mike. It made it hard to show him how awesome the beach is when it is always cold. We had only one real nice day on the beach. But oh well.
STORY -
So on the nice day at the beach, our family friends the Woolner family came down to play with us. We were loving the sun and heat. A bunch of us were throwing the Frisbee around and I love Frisbee, I love ultimate Frisbee. So I was having some fun. I managed to beat Mike to the Frisbee, he over estimated the height of the Frisbee and so I managed to snag it. I was pretty proud of myself. Well the next throw Mike tried to throw it around me and instead of going around me, it hit me smack in the face, right under the bridge of my nose. He was only 20 feet away from me. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, so I sobbed. Pathetic, I know. Mike felt sooooo bad. I am sure that the sobbing didn't help too much. But I survived with only a small cut under my nose.
The beach and Vegas were great but by the end of the trip the relaxing turned more into agonizing waiting to do something productive. I was anxious to get home to find jobs and start planning. But we are on our way to jobs soon. We are working for this elderly lady named June, to earn money everyday and are getting ready to start another part time job. We both have an interview today which is really good. So things are great. I have two goals for each day, reading the scriptures for 30 mins a day and also go walking every day for 30 mins. So I am working and goal oriented. Next big event in my life is the bridal shower in October, which I am excited about, and then my 21st birthday. Yay!
